Amazon river
This river is the second largest river in the world. This river originates in the Andes Mountains of Peru in South America and flows from west to east in Bolivia, Venezuela,It flows over Colombia, Ecuador and Brazil and joins the Atlantic Ocean at Macapa in Brazil. The river is about 6,400 km long this Amazon River flows into the Atlantic Ocean as much as the 7 largest rivers in the world together. That is compared to all the freshwater rivers on earth, this one river carries about 25% of its water into the ocean each year.
* When did the Amazon river originate?
The river is 2.4 million years old. Prior to that, the river was 50 times larger at 11.3 and 11.8 flowing across. The river became confined to South America due to the great changes that took place on the land during that later period.
* How did that Peru get to the Amazon river
The river was named after King Charles V. To invade Peru under the command of Francisco Pizarro, his most powerful soldier and sailor.
He conquered the country in 1535 and went to the king with the good news that King Charles V, who admired Francisco’s leadership, gave Francisco the country of Peru.
On his way back to Peru across the river, some women from the tribe of Icamiaba heroically fought Francisco and defeated him. Those women King Charles V, who admired the brave adventures of the Greek Mythology, named the river Amazon, after a group of heroic women named the Amazons.
The river has been called the Amazon ever since. The river was formerly known as Rio Grande, Mar Dulce and Rio da Canela. But so far this river not a single bridge was built because about 90% of the river flows through forests and hills. Also no structure due to the aggressive nature of this river unable to undertake.

The river is 1.6 to 10 km wide during the summer and about 48 km wide during the monsoons. The river is 240 km long before it joins the Atlantic Ocean the width expands. Due to its huge width, the river is known as the Sea of Fresh Water. Due to the high tidal power of the river, it meets the sea at about 320 miles it penetrates into the sea for miles and meets there in seawater. The high velocity of this river produces large waves like the world’s oceans.

The river is home to more than 3,000 species of aquatic life, and each year scientists discover new species. Anaconda, the largest snake in the world, no Fish like piranha that can be eaten by any animal, Electric eels that can kill even a human with his shock, Candiru fish that suck their blood by squeezing into the mysteries of humans and many more Dangerous creatures live in this river. If new people get lost in this river they should still give up hope on them because every year hundreds of people die at the hands of the creatures in this river.
