Plants that repel mosquitoes
Mosquitoes: I don’t know where they stay all day but in the evening they make a kind of noise near the ears and sting like needles. We try hard not to let them enter the house. No matter how many roots are made, they will remain. So if you grow these plants, mosquitoes will not enter the house. Let’s know about them.
Lemongrass and Citronella/Plants that repel mosquitoes
Both of these grasses have mosquito repellent properties. If you crush the leaves of these plants and apply the oil from them, it works more effectively. The smell makes us sick and irritates us. Citronella, also known as scented geranium, works in this way.
Lemon Thyme
This citrus plant keeps mosquitoes and other insects away by keeping it near the door.
Lemon Balm
Similar to lemon thyme, its scent repels insects. A member of the mint family, this plant grows quickly and vigorously in pots.
Lavender
In cold places, the smell of lavender flowers not only repels mosquitoes but also insects such as flies and moths. Therefore, the grown shoots of these plants are brought and hung near the windowsills. This reduces the pestilence of insects.
Rose Mary
Used as a spice in cooking, its smell does not attract mosquitoes.
Tulsi: A type of Tulsi called Asimum basilicum, used in cooking and salads, has the power to repel eagles and mosquitoes, so growing them at home is beneficial in every way.
Nepeta Cataria: This plant is loaded with a chemical called Nepeta Lactone which has been tested to be more effective than other chemical formulations. The leaves of this medicinal plant are used in the preparation of medicines and herbal tea.
Not only these plants but because of the odors coming from plants like peppermint, sage, and allium, mosquitoes quickly sense the presence of the house. All these plants have medicinal value and fragrance, so growing them at home can protect them from mosquitoes and a good sense of health.
