what is cloud seeding?

Cloud seeding means artificially seeding the clouds and making them rain when we want.

Who invented cloud seeding?

In 1902 Charlie Hatfield mixed 23 types of chemicals and filled them in large tankers and released the chemical vapors into the air for the first time to artificially rain. At that time it created a big sensation. This also earned him a great name, but he is not mentioned as Father Cloud Seeding. Because he died without telling anyone the secret of chemicals.

Father Cloud Seeding

Vincent J. An American chemist named Schaefer seeded the clouds near the mountains and gave artificial rain on 13-11-1946.

How are clouds formed?

Usually, if we dry the wet clothes in the sun, the moisture in the clothes gets lost and the clothes get dry. That is, the water there evaporates into the atmosphere. In this way, when the water on the earth is heated by the sun’s rays, the water on the earth turns into water vapor and mixes in the air. Air only partially retains this water vapor.

Depending on the temperature of the air and its weight, water vapor can only be retained for a short time. This is called atmospheric pressure. Air can hold more water vapor when atmospheric pressure or temperature increases in a tabular place in the air.

If the atmospheric pressure decreases, the air does not retain the water it holds. Then, after the air holds as much water vapor as it can carry, whatever remaining water vapor cools and turns into water. This is called Condensation.

Small ice crystals that have turned from water vapor into the water can coalesce into larger solids that surface dust or bacteria in the atmosphere or hush from volcanoes to form a cloud. When the crystals in the clouds formed like this get heavier, it turns into rain.

How is cloud seeding done?

This is done by spraying the chemicals needed for cloud seeding on the clouds from the ground through aircraft guns or some types of rockets.
