National Institute of Design Ahmedabad
National Institute of Design (NID), Ahmedabad invites applications for admission to Bachelor of Design, and Master of Design programs. B Design course is available in Ahmedabad Haryana, Madhya Pradesh, and Assam campuses along with Andhra Pradesh. The duration of this course is four years. M Design course is available in Ahmedabad, Bangalore, and Gandhinagar campuses, the duration of this course is two years. Admissions will be through Design Aptitude Test. It includes prelims and main stages. All the exams will be in English medium. Those who qualify in Freelims will be shortlisted according to merit. Further admission process will be conducted based on the main score of three times the number of seats in each category.

B-Design
Animation field design, graphic design, product design, and textile design have 19 seats each; exhibition design, film and video communication, ceramic and glass design, furniture, and interior design have 13 seats in each of the total 128 seats. An additional 19 seats (15% supernumerary seats) have been earmarked for foreign students.
Departments – Seats in Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Assam, and Andhra Pradesh Campuses
Communication Design, Industrial Design, Textile, and Apparel Design departments are available on all campuses. There are 75 seats on each campus with 25 seats per department. Haryana and Madhya Pradesh campuses have an additional 11 seats each for foreign students.
National Institute of Design Eligibility
Candidates should have been born after 1st July 2003. Candidates who have passed Inter/XII/Equivalent examination with Science, Arts, Commerce, and Humanities groups from CBS/IB/ICSE/other recognized boards can apply. Those currently preparing for final year exams can also apply. They should have cleared the exam by May 2023.
Passed two years of Joint Services Wing Course conducted by National Defense Academy; Passed Senior Secondary School Examination with at least 5 subjects from National Institute of Open Schooling; Passed HSC Vocational Examination; Completed three-year Diploma Courses conducted by Board of Technical Education; General Certificate Education Advanced Level Exam (London/Sri Lanka) passers can also apply. Those who have completed their inter in foreign countries have to submit an equivalence certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
DAT details
Prelims will be conducted in paper-pencil/pen mode. Questions will be asked from text and visuals. The exam duration details will be mentioned in the admit card. Mains has multi-format tests like studio setup.
M-Design
The Ahmedabad campus has 19 seats each in Animation Film Design, Film and Video Communication, Graphic Design, Furniture, Interior Design, Product Design, and Textile Design, and 12 seats in Ceramic and Glass Design. 19 seats each in Photography Design, Transportation and Automobile Design, New Media Design, Strategic Design Management, Apparel Design, and Lifestyle Accessory Design in Gandhinagar Campus; There are 12 seats in the toy and game design. In the Bangalore campus, there are 19 seats each in Universal Design, Interaction Design, and Design for Retail Experience. An additional 15% of seats are reserved for foreign students in each category.
Eligibility
Candidates should have been born after 1st July 1991. Any degree pass of 3 years/4 years duration after Inter can apply. Candidates who have completed four years of Diploma in Design, Fine Arts, Applied Arts, or Architecture can also apply. Those currently studying in their final year and completing the course by May 2023 can also apply.
DAT details
The prelims exam will be 100 marks. It consists of Common Design Aptitude Test and Section Specific Test. In these objective and subjective types, questions will be asked. Candidates can apply for two sections in the M Design program. They will have to write two specific tests related to the departments. There will be a studio test in the mains. It consists of multiple format tests. Later there will be departmental interviews.

Application Fee: 3,000 rupees for General, OBC, and EWS candidates, 1500 rupees for disabled, SC, and ST candidates, and 5,000 rupees for foreign students.
