B-Design Course in Mumbai

School of Design (SOD) under the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS), Mumbai offers a B-Design program in the Department of Humanizing Technology. It is a full-time program of four years duration. There is a total of 30 seats. Admissions will be through Design Aptitude Test. B-Design Course in Mumbai.

B-Design Eligibility

Inter equivalent course pass with Science/Commerce/Arts group from a recognized board can apply. Those who have completed International Baccalaureate Diploma can also apply with a minimum of 50% marks in Inter level.

Design Aptitude Test

It includes online studio tests, portfolio reviews, and personal interviews. Admissions are given according to the merit list.

Studio Test: It consists of two parts. 10 multiple choice questions will be given in the first part. Through these, the visual and special abilities, environmental and social awareness, logical reasoning, observation, and memory abilities of the candidate are tested. 15 minutes will be given for this. In the second part, there is a design challenge. Problem-solving and sketching will be done on the given topic. Through this, creative thinking, concept understanding, solution presentation, etc. will be tested. This will take one hour.

Portfolio

A portfolio should be prepared with elements of sketching/drawing/photography. It should be at least five pages. Candidates can prepare the first three pages as per their decision. The fourth page should be related to product sketching and the fifth page should be related to rapid sketching. For complete information regarding these visit the website. A portfolio has to be submitted at the time of the interview. After examining this, the sketching skills and creativity of the candidates will be evaluated.

Personal interview

Candidates will be asked questions from various sections for 10-20 minutes. Reasoning skills, observation skills, assignment of interest, etc. are tested through these.
