Indian Institute of Crafts and Design
Indian Institute of Crafts and Design, Jaipur has released notification for admission in B Design, M Design, and M Vocational Courses. Admissions are made through an entrance test. Scholarships are provided as per the rules. 3 years in degree, a 1-year course in PG, 8 weeks internship program after completion. Non-resident Indians, candidates from SAARC countries, and other foreign students can also apply for these programs. They do not need to write an entrance. They are given admission through the statement of purpose, digital portfolio, and online interviews. Crafts and Designing Courses.
B design
The duration of the program is four years. It consists of a one-year foundation course. There are total 8 semesters of two per year. There are a total of 180 seats in this program. Inter/XII/Equivalent course pass from a recognized board can apply. Those currently preparing for final year exams can also apply. After completing the one-year course, one can leave the program with a diploma, after two years with an advanced diploma, and after three years with a vocational degree.
M design
The duration of the program is two years. It consists of four semesters. There are 90 seats in this program. Candidates who have completed B Design / BRC / BA Design / BSc Design / B Vocational Design / equivalent courses can apply.
M vocational
It is reserved for candidates who have done non-design degree courses. The duration of the program is three years, which includes a one-year foundation course. There will be a total of 6 semesters. There are 90 seats in this program.
Degree Programs
Crafts and Design, Skills and Applications, History of Crafts, Materials-Science, Tools-Techniques-Process, Field Exposure, Customer-Market Needs, Design Process, etc. are taught in the degree program. Crafts and Designing Courses.
PG Programmes
PG programs cover research, concept, design systems and solution thinking, advanced exploration of materials-design possibilities, innovations, the business of crafts and design, social entrepreneurship, and leadership.
IICD Entrance Test Details
It is in two stages. The first is the General Awareness-Creativity and Perception Test. The second is the Material Colors-Concept Test. This includes portfolio submission. It is purely related to the candidate’s creative work. Sketching, painting, embroidery, photography, models, exploration with materials, creative writing, etc. should be ensured.
Candidates should bring Pens, Pencils (HB, 2B, 4B, 6B), Scissors, Scale, Cello Tape, Paper Cutter, Favi Stick, Eraser, Compass, Color Pencils, Water Colors, Brushes. After that, there will be a personal interview. In this, the proficiency of the candidates will be tested based on their aptitude for crafts, intelligence quotient, communication ability, general awareness of crafts and design, personal achievements, and curricular activities. Candidates will be selected by giving 35% weightage to General Awareness-Creativity and Perception Test, 45% to Material-Colors-Concept Test, and 20% to the Personal Interview.
