Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET) is the eligibility test conducted for the recruitment of teachers in national-level schools. Passing the CTET is the necessary qualification for applying for teaching jobs in Central Vidyalayas, Navodaya Vidyalayas, Army Schools, and State Level Schools. This exam is conducted twice a year. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the December 2022 (16th edition) notification. The registrations will start on October 31. The test will be conducted on a computer basis. CTET eligibility

Must have passed Senior Secondary or equivalent examination with minimum 50% marks to teach class 1st to 5th. Similarly, two years of Diploma in Secondary Education pass or should have appeared in the Secondary Examination. Otherwise should have passed Senior Secondary along with four years of Bachelor of Elementary Education passed or attended the final year examination. In addition to graduation, two years of Diploma in Elementary Education should be passed or written final year examinations.

Graduation from 6th to 10th standard along with two years Diploma in Elementary Education passed or written final year examinations. OR Degree pass with minimum 50% marks. Must have passed one year BED or written examination. OR Senior Secondary Pass with minimum 50% marks. A four-year Bachelor of Elementary Education pass must have written the final year examinations.

OR four years BA/BSc BED or degree with minimum 50% marks along with at least one year BED (Special Education) pass or written final examination.

5% relaxation in marks for SC, ST OBC students.

Candidates who have appeared in the final year examinations of Degree and Diploma in Education can also write CTET. But the CTET qualification will be valid only after passing the original exam

CTET test procedure

Considering the previous CTET, there are two papers in this exam. The first paper is for classes 1st to 5th and the second paper is for classes 6th to 8th. Candidates can write one or two papers according to their preferences. The question paper will be in multiple-choice mode. Only one of the four alternatives is correct.

CTET Exam Fee Last Date: November 25

Application Fee: INR 1000 for General/OBC categories (Paper-1, or 2 only).INR 1200 (Paper-1,Paper-2 only) INR 600 (Paper-1,Paper-2 both).

CTET Computer-Based Test: Between December 2022 to January 2023.
