Design programs in IIAD

Indian Institute of Art and Design (IIAD), New Delhi invites applications for admission in Degree, PG Programmes. These are supported by the Kingston School of Art in London. Admissions are done through entrance tests and personal interviews. Selected candidates will be awarded Merit Cum Means Scholarships. Design programs in IIAD.

IIAD Entrance Test

Management Aptitude Test is conducted for admission to Passion Business Management Department. Multiple choice questions and writing tasks are given in this. Questions are asked to determine the knowledge of the candidate on the topics of logical reasoning and creative thinking. Those who qualified for this test will be called for personal interviews.

Design aptitude test is conducted for admission in fashion communication, communication design, interior architecture, and design departments. In this, visual tasks, writing tasks, one-word questions, and multiple-choice questions are asked.

Questions are given to test the candidate’s understanding of creativity, visual ability, cultural awareness, and logical thinking. Admissions will be given to those who qualify for this examination based on merit. The duration of the Management Aptitude Test/Design Aptitude Test is two and a half hours.

degree programs

This is a BA (Hons) program. It has a total of 200 seats. Specializations include Interior Architecture and Design, Fashion Design, Fashion Business Management, Fashion Communication, and Communication Design. The duration of the degree in Fashion Business Management is three years. The duration of the degree with other specializations is four years. The first year consists of a foundation course. The next three years will consist of courses related to the specialization chosen by the candidate.

Eligibility

Must have passed Inter/Class XII/Equivalent course with Science/Commerce/Humanities/Arts subjects. A minimum of 50% marks is mandatory. At present those who have written final year exams can also apply. CBSE, ICSE, NIOS, CIE, ISC, and IHSB candidates are eligible. Candidates who have done a diploma in design disciplines can get admission in the second year through lateral entry. They will be selected through Personal Interview Portfolio Assessment.

PG Programmes

The duration of the program is two years. It has a specialization in Fashion Business Management, with a total of 20 seats. It is possible to withdraw from the program after completion of the first year. PG Diploma is preferred for them.
