Indian Statistical Institute, Kolkata has released a notification for admission to academic programs. Through this notification, admission to Degree, PG, PG Diploma, or Junior Research Fellowship programs can be sought. Admissions are through entrance tests and interviews. Indian Statistical Institute Degree Programmes
The Kolkata campus has Bachelor of Statistics (B-Stat) Honors programs and the Bangalore campus has Bachelor of Mathematics (B-Maths) Honors programs. The duration of each program is three years. Candidates who have completed inter-equivalent courses with Mathematics and English as main subjects are eligible. Selected candidates will get Rs. 5000 will be paid as a stipend.
PG Programmes
The duration of each program is two years and the selected candidates will be paid Rs. 8000 will be paid as a stipend. Programs include the Master of Statistics program at the Delhi campus; the Master of Mathematics program at the Kolkata and Bangalore campuses; the Master of Science in Quality Management Science program at the Bangalore and Hyderabad campuses; the Master of Science in Library and Information Science programs at the Bangalore campus. Any degree pass of 3/4 years duration can apply for these programs.
Indian Statistical Institute M Tech Programmes
The program is available at the Kolkata campus. Its duration is two years. Specializations include computer science, cryptology and security, and quality reliability-operations research. Computer Science, Cryptology, and Security specializations can apply along with any PG pass with BE/BTech or Maths as the main subject. Candidates who have passed a Master’s Degree in Statistics for Quality-Reliability-Operations Research specialization; Degree in Statistics with PG in Mathematics as the main subject; Can apply for BE/BTech/equivalent courses in any engineering discipline. A stipend of Rs.12,400 per month will be paid to those admitted to the M Tech program.
PG Diploma
The duration of the program is one year. It includes specializations in Statistical Methods and Analytics, Agriculture, and Rural Management with Statistical Methods and Analytics Applied Statistics. The Statistical Methods and Analytics specialization are located at the Tezpur and Chennai campuses. Degree passes with Mathematics as the main subject; BE/BTech/AMIE can apply in any engineering discipline.
Agriculture and Rural Management with specialization in Statistical Methods and Analytics is located at Giridih Campus. Candidates who have passed any degree with Mathematics/Statistics as the main subject are eligible to apply. The Applied Statistics specialization should be studied online. Any degree pass with Mathematics as the main subject.
Junior Research Fellowship
The program is available at Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Chennai, and Giridih campuses. The departments include Statistics, Mathematics, Quantitative Economics, Computer Science, Quality Reliability and Operations Research, Physics, and Applied Mathematics, Biological Science, Library and Information Science, and Sociology. ME/MTech/M. STAT/M Maths/MCA/MPhil/MA/MMC pass can apply. Candidates selected for this program will get a contingency grant of Rs. 31,000 will be paid as a fellowship.
