Professional Certificate in tea testing and marketing
Indian Institute of Plantation Management (IIPM), Bangalore – offers a professional certificate program on tea testing and marketing. The duration of this intensive program is 45 days, organized in collaboration with the Tea Board of India. Training sessions will be held from 17th April to 31st May 2023. Tea testing sessions are conducted according to technical, functional, and marketing needs for those with experience in tea manufacturing, tea production, trading/blending, tea retailing departments including pressures, and tea industry experts.
Program details
In this tea business management, market information and techniques are explained and tea testing skills are taught. The methodology of testing different types of tea prepared in the country and abroad will be explained. The program consists of academic, technical, and practical modules. In the end, there will be assigned work.
The academic module includes topics on Tea Tasting-Production and Quality Management, Technical Module includes the Micro Profiling of Tea Grading, the Language of Tea Tasting for Procurements and Tea Blends, and Palette Memory-Tea Tasting/Blending topics. The practical module includes field study, tea estate/factory visits and marketing, and tea-tasting and sensory skills training. The assignment includes project presentation, practical tests, written tests, case analysis, expert committee evolution, and certification.
Eligibility: Should have passed any degree from a recognized University. Proficiency in reading and writing English is a must. Preference should be given to candidates sponsored by tea-related production and marketing organizations. Foreigners can also apply.
Selection Process: Candidates will be selected through the interview, psychometric tests related to tea tasting, and blind sensory tests.
Important information
Course Fee: 80,000 rupees plus GST, 1100 US dollars for foreigners.
Application Fee: 1000 rupees for general candidates, 500 rupees for disabled, SC, and ST candidates, and 15 US dollars for foreigners.
