Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship

Begum Hazrat Mahal National Scholarship was started in the year 2003 to encourage talented poor girls from minority communities to pursue higher studies. It was established with the aim that financial affordability should not be a barrier to educational development. This scholarship is offered by Maulana Azad Education Foundation, Delhi. It falls under the Ministry of Minorities.

The amount received through this scholarship can be used to pay school or college fees, buy books or stationery for the course, and meet food needs. Female students belonging to minority communities in 9th, 10th, inter-first-year, and second-year classes can apply for this scholarship. Academic merit and family income are considered as part of the selection.

Scholarship Award Amount

A scholarship of 5,000 rupees per month is given to female students studying in 9th and 10th classes and 6,000 rupees per month to intermediate students. The scholarship amount is directly deposited in the student’s account every month. If the scholarship recipients stop their studies for any reason, their scholarships will also be canceled.

State. Those receiving any subsidy from Central Governments are not eligible for this scholarship. Total scholarships are provided by the states based on the population of the respective religions in the Union Territories. 2011 census is taken as standard for this.

Eligibility

All the female students studying from ninth to twelfth standard all over India can apply for this scholarship. Candidates should belong to the minority communities of Jain, Muslim, Christian, Sikh, Parsi, and Buddhist. Their annual family income should not exceed 2 lakhs. Must have secured at least 50% marks in previous classes. This stipend does not apply to two candidates belonging to the same family and belonging to the same class.

Application Procedure

Eligible candidates should apply online. No application fee is required. Download the school verification form and enter the details, attach the photo and affix the principal’s signature and stamp on it. Then scan this form and upload it along with the application. Income proof should also be attached.
