Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay (IITB) has released a notification for the entrance tests for admission to design courses. UCEED-2023

Through this exam, you will be allowed to do design courses in leading design institutes across the country, including IIT (Hyderabad, Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati), and IIITDM (Jabalpur). This exam score will be valid for one year. Candidates can write this only two consecutive times.

Details of seats

There are 20 seats at IIT Hyderabad, 37 at IIT Bombay, 20 at IIT Delhi, 56 at IIT Guwahati, and 66 at IIITDM Jabalpur. Reservations are applicable as per Govt.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed inter with science/commerce/arts and humanities groups from recognized boards can apply.MPC group pass candidates can join the above 5 institutes. BIPC candidates are also eligible for admission to IIITDM. Those who study arts and commerce groups including BIPC can join IIT (Hyderabad, Bombay, Delhi).

Completed two-year Joint Services Swing Course conducted by National Defense Academy; Passed Senior Secondary School Examination conducted by National Institute of Open Schooling; Passed HSC Vocational Examination; Passed High School Certificate Examination conducted by Cambridge University; Completed General Certificate Education Examination (London/Cambridge/Swalwell) You can apply to USED.

Current final-year students are also eligible. Candidates who have passed in the year 2021 or earlier are not eligible to apply. Candidates should have been born on or after 1st October 1998. As per government rules, age relaxation is applicable for disabled, SC, and ST candidates.

Test details

The duration of the exam is 3 hours and the total marks are 300. It consists of two parts. The first part is for 240 marks, it is a computer-based test and the time allotted is 2:30 minutes. It has 3 sections. In the first section 18, numerical answer questions will be given. The question carries 4 marks. Type the answer on the screen using the virtual keyboard. There will be no negative marks for these.

18 multiple-select questions will be given in the second section. These have more than one answer. If all the questions are correctly identified then 4 marks will be given. If the answer is incorrectly identified then 1 mark will be deducted.

32 multiple-choice questions will be given in the 3rd section. Each question carries 3 marks. A deduction of 0.71 marks will be made for wrongly marked answers. The second part will be for 60 marks. Half an hour is given for this. In this, a question is shown on the computer screen to test the candidate’s drawing skills. The answer should be written in the answer book. In the first part, candidates will be shortlisted according to the prescribed cutoff. The second part related to them will be checked and the score of UCED 2022 will be announced.

Seed-2023

Through this exam, the opportunity to do engineering courses in IISC (Bangalore), IIITDM (Jabalpur), and IIT (Hyderabad, Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Roorkee) are combined. Engineer Specializations

Product Design and Engineering at IISC Bangalore; Industrial Design, Communication Design, Animation, Interaction Design, Mobility, and Vehicle Design at IIT Bombay; Design at IITs Delhi and Roorkee; Visual Design specializations at IIT Hyderabad.

Eligibility

Candidates who have passed a Diploma/Degree of a minimum of three years duration after Inter can apply. Candidates who have completed five years GD Arts Diploma program after the 10th standard can also apply. There is no upper age limit.

Test details

It has two parts. 100 marks will be allotted for each part, and 8 numerical answer-type questions will be given in the first part. 10 multiple choice questions will be given. Each question carries 3 marks and 23 multiple-choice questions will be asked. Each of these questions carries two marks. 0.2 marks will be deducted for wrong answers in multiple-choice questions and 0.5 for wrong answers in multiple-choice questions.

In the second part, 5 questions will be given from the sections of sketching, creativity, form sensitivity, visual sensitivity, and problem identification. 20 marks allotted for each. The duration of the exam is 1 hour for the first part and 2 hours for the second part. The candidates will be shortlisted as per the specified cutoff in the first part. Only the second part related to them will be examined. The seed score is determined by giving 25% weightage to the first part and 75% to the second part.
